New Venue for Gitex Shopper Announced: Dubai World Trade Centre

Due to the increasing popularity of Gitex Shopper, the UAE’s largest electronic and IT show, it has been relocated to Dubai World Trade Centre. The said decision was taken to meet the growing demand for space.

This year the show will see a 25% increase in the exhibition space and more than 25,000 latest, state-of-the-art gadgetry and electronic devices will be displayed.  The organisers also announced that this year the show will be organised a bit earlier than last year – it will start on September 29 and will last till October 6th.

Trixee Loh, senior vice president Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), organiser of Gitex Shopper, projected that this year Gitex Shopper will hit new records.

“Gitex Shopper has enjoyed extraordinary success from the show’s very first edition, and with its historic move to the Dubai World Trade Centre, anticipation is at an all-time high. Our exhibitors have almost without exception required increased exhibition space, and this move enables us to deliver that”.

The world’s leading consumer IT and electronic goods manufactures have already booked 90% of the floor space at Dubai World Trade Centre. Among the leading brands that will showcase their products are HTC, Intel, Nintendo, Bose, Dell, Epson, and Fujitsu along with Samsung, Sanford and Seagate.

Trixee Loh said that they have also increased the number of hours so that visitors’ demands can be met adequately.

“We have also increased the number of hours that the show is open, in a bid to meet the growing needs of the visitors, many of whom travel hours to attend Gitex Shopper.”

Gitex Shopper collected huge success during the last year show and this time even more leading brands are going to display their products. Nestle, LG, Western Digital and Toshiba will have their dedicated stands for the first time.

President of LG Electronics, D Y Kim, said that people from around the globe visit the event and capitalizing on the huge consumer market LG has decided to display its range of latest Smart Projectors.

“The widely talked-about range includes the world’s slimmest and brightest smart LED projectors, apart from offering many innovative and state-of-the-art functions and features.”

Jacky’s Electronics Middle East chief Operating officer Ashish Panjabi said that their company is participating in the Gitex shopper for the last 11 consecutive years, and with the change of venue, a visible increase in the number of customers and visitors will be observed.

During the previous year the show was organised at Airport Expo Dubai and was held under the patronage of Dubai World Trade Centre. The UAE has an estimated US $3.4 billion consumer electronics market.
